New Lawsuit Filed Against Amazon in the US

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has filed a lawsuit against Amazon. More than 20 states have joined the case.

Amazon is accused of manipulating advertising prices on its own trading platform. According to the allegations, the company secretly raised the minimum price required for placing ads without providing advertisers with proper information about it.

As a result, companies had to pay more to advertise their products on Amazon. The case involves potential losses in the billions of dollars. The states involved in the case may seek fines from Amazon as well as the return of a portion of the funds.

This is not the first dispute between the FTC and Amazon. In September of last year, the company agreed to pay $2.5 billion to settle a case related to Prime subscriptions. At that time, Amazon was accused of misleading consumers.

Following the news of the new lawsuit, Amazon's shares fell by approximately 3%.
