Anthropic Presents New Technology for Artificial Intelligence

Anthropic has introduced a preview version of the Model Hardware Standard, which allows artificial intelligence systems to control various devices in laboratories and enterprises.

Under the new standard, a single system can work with several types of devices, including microscopes, liquid-handling equipment, and robotic arms.

According to Anthropic, the main goal is to make connecting different hardware much faster and simpler.

Several companies are already joining the project, including Amazon Web Services, Tecan, Universal Robots, Danaher, Doosan Robotics, and QIAGEN. They will apply the standard to their own laboratory equipment and robotic systems and evaluate its performance.

Anthropic is still at the preview stage and, together with its partners, is also studying safety issues. Later, the company plans to publicly release the standard's code.
