Anthropic Restores Relationship with Trump Administration

According to US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, relations between Anthropic and the White House have improved.

The disagreement between the company and US authorities began after Anthropic refused to allow Claude to be used for internal surveillance and autonomous weapons systems. Following this, the Pentagon restricted the company's access to certain military contracts.

Anthropic challenged the decision in court, and on August 27 a federal court ruled in its favor. A few days later, Lutnick stated that the company had restored its relationship with the White House.

On the same day, Anthropic co-founder Tom Brown spoke at a G20 technology event. He called on countries to simplify the permitting process required for building data centers.
