Google Allocates $15 Billion for AI Data Centers in Finland

Google will spend at least €13 billion, roughly $15.1 billion, on artificial intelligence infrastructure in Finland over the next two years. This will be the company's largest investment in Europe to date.

The plan includes the construction of three new data centers in northern Finland. Google will also sign a 22-year agreement with energy company Fortum and purchase a portion of the electricity generated by one of Finland's nuclear plants. This marks Google's first nuclear energy agreement outside the US.

The company considers Finland a favorable location for data centers due to its cold climate and relatively stable power grid. In addition to data centers, the investment covers power transmission grid, clean energy, and battery projects.

According to Google's forecast, the project will add approximately €3.6 billion to Finland's economy during the construction period, and once completed, will support around 7,000 jobs annually.
