Google has signed the largest agreement on carbon dioxide reduction

Google has signed the largest deal in the company's history related to reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The project will be carried out in Brazil and aims to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by 200,000 tons by 2030. Google will cover the costs.

The project will be implemented by the Brazilian company Mombak. The company restores degraded pastureland in the Amazon region with native tree species. As the trees grow, they absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Google is not disclosing the financial terms of the deal. The company's goal is not merely to offset its own emissions. Google hopes that orders of this scale will help expand carbon dioxide reduction projects and lower their cost.

For technology companies, this issue has become particularly relevant due to the rapid growth of data centers. Developing AI systems requires large amounts of electricity, which is why Google's energy consumption is also increasing.
