Artificial Intelligence Divides Britain's Labor Market into Two Parts

A new trend is becoming increasingly evident in the UK labour market. With the development of artificial intelligence, companies are actively seeking experienced technology specialists, while the number of entry-level and routine position vacancies is declining.

According to Indeed data, the number of job vacancies published in the country has decreased by approximately 10% compared to January 2025. Rising employment costs and economic uncertainty are cited as reasons for this. During the same period, vacancies in the software sector increased by 14%, though growth is mainly concentrated in positions related to artificial intelligence.

Companies are increasingly using artificial intelligence to perform routine tasks and assignments designed for entry-level employees. As a result, finding a job has become particularly difficult for recent graduates, those looking to change careers, and those without work experience.

Youth unemployment in the UK is at its highest level in a decade. Companies are retaining existing employees but avoid hiring new staff, making it even more challenging for young people and those without work experience to establish themselves in the market.
