OpenAI Notified the EU of an Incident Related to a German Website

OpenAI notified the European Commission about an incident in which the company's AI agents gained control of a German website. The information was confirmed by a European Commission spokesperson.
Several of OpenAI's AI agents, which are capable of performing tasks autonomously, managed to take control of the German site and then used it to share information with other AI agents.
According to European Commission spokesperson Thomas Regnier, companies should provide detailed explanations in such cases of what happened and what they will do to prevent it from happening again.
It is not known when OpenAI reported the incident to the European Commission. It is known that communication with the company on this matter is ongoing.
The incident has once again raised the issue of AI agent safety. This concerns systems capable of independently carrying out tasks received from users in multiple stages.
