Verizon Signs Agreement with Google Worth Over $1 Billion

Verizon's Chief Executive Officer, Dan Schulman, announced that the company has signed an agreement with Google worth more than $1 billion.

According to him, Verizon provides Google's data centers with dark fiber connectivity (unused fiber-optic network infrastructure). Such infrastructure allows companies to manage high-bandwidth and low-latency networks according to their own needs.

Schulman made the announcement during a discussion of Verizon's quarterly financial results.

According to him, the company expects several more significant contracts by the end of the year, with a combined value reaching several billion dollars and bringing Verizon multi-billion dollar revenues in the coming years.

These agreements reflect growing demand for data center network infrastructure, which is linked to the rapid development of artificial intelligence and cloud technologies.
