# US Considers Banning Import of Chinese Solar Inverters

The U.S. administration is considering a ban on the import of solar inverters manufactured in China. The decision is linked to energy security risks and aims to protect the electricity supply system from potential disruptions. The final version of the regulation is expected to be prepared by the end of the year.
According to analysts' assessments, American companies, SolarEdge and Enphase, will be in the most favorable position as a result of the restrictions. A particularly significant impact is expected in the commercial and industrial segment, where Chinese manufacturers, including Chint and Sungrow, hold approximately 40% of the market.
In the event of a ban, American companies would have greater opportunities to expand in this direction.
Significant changes in the residential sector are less likely, as Enphase, SolarEdge, and Tesla already control 90% of this market. A more substantial impact is expected on large-scale projects, where Chinese Sungrow currently holds a leading position.
In the event the restrictions are implemented, local manufacturers would have the opportunity to deploy their own technologies more actively in the market.
