Nvidia Invests $3 Billion in Meta - Companies Expand AI Partnership

Nvidia plans to invest $3 billion as part of a new stock offering announced by Meta Platforms. The deal is part of an expanded partnership between the companies and will support the development and improvement of Meta's artificial intelligence models, including the Muse line.

This move follows Meta's announcement that the company plans to raise a total of $95 billion to expand its AI infrastructure. According to a joint statement from Nvidia and Meta, the collaboration will focus on improving the efficiency of training and inference for Muse models — inference being the process by which an already-trained model generates responses and results.

Meta plans to expand its use of Nvidia infrastructure across its data centers. Among other things, the company will use the Vera Rubin platform and Vera processors to power AI agents, and will also deploy Nvidia's networking technologies.

According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, the goal of the partnership is to optimize computing infrastructure in ways that will help create more capable, efficient, and secure AI agents.

According to Mizuho analyst Lloyd Walmsley, Meta's capital raise will ease investor concerns. Market participants had previously worried that additional funding might be delayed until January 2027, when the Class C stock offering is set to begin. Securing financing sooner reduces this uncertainty.

The partnership is expanding against a backdrop of positive user feedback on Meta's Muse models. The Muse AI agents app in particular has generated significant interest, becoming one of the most frequently downloaded apps within a week of launch.

In addition, Meta has increased the size of its common stock offering from $22.5 billion to $25 billion. Combined with the depositary shares offering, the total capital raise could reach $37.5 billion. According to the company, common stock is priced at $625 per share, while depositary shares are priced at $50.

The main purpose of Meta's capital raise is to finance AI infrastructure. On Monday, the company also announced plans for a separate offering of non-voting shares worth approximately $60 billion in 2027.

According to Wells Fargo analysts, Meta's new offerings could close the expected $60–80 billion funding gap for fiscal year 2027. In their view, the size and structure of the common stock, preferred stock, and Class C share offerings will meet the company's future financing needs.

Analysts suggest that the AI investment cycle will continue beyond 2027. As a result, Meta may turn to stock or debt issuance again in the future, though this will depend more on the scale of Muse model adoption, their monetization potential, and the dynamics of AI demand. According to Wells Fargo, the current capital raise will make Meta's financing needs less dependent on growing volatility in the credit market.
