Porsche will not release a fully electric 911

Porsche's Chief Executive Officer Michael Leiters announced that the company does not plan to create a fully electric version of the Porsche 911.

According to him, the 911 model and its identity have historically been associated with internal combustion engines. Since the model's creation, all versions have been produced with gasoline engines, though hybrid modifications have been added in recent years.

Despite this, Porsche continues to develop in the direction of electric vehicles. The company introduced the fully electric Porsche Taycan to the market in 2019 and currently offers consumers several models of electric SUVs.

According to Leiters, Porsche will continue to invest in electric vehicles, but will make decisions based on consumer demand. In his assessment, the company had evaluated demand for electric vehicles too optimistically, which is why a certain focus has been shifted back to vehicles with internal combustion engines.

This decision by Porsche indicates that the brand will seek to maintain the character of traditional sports cars in the coming years, while continuing the electrification process more carefully and gradually.
