S&P Global Considers Spinning Off Part of Its Business as a Separate Company

S&P Global is considering spinning off Capital IQ and related data services into a separate company. These segments are currently part of the company's Market Intelligence business.
S&P Global announced the possible change when reporting its third-quarter results. The company's adjusted earnings per share came to $4.58, beating analysts' forecasts. Quarterly revenue reached $3.68 billion.
The company also raised its annual guidance. S&P Global now expects revenue growth of 7.5-8.5%, up from its previous forecast of 6-8%.
On October 26, the company acquired OpenZeppelin. With this deal, S&P Global is expanding its risk assessment offerings in the digital assets space.
A final decision on spinning off Capital IQ into a separate company has not yet been made.
