Airbus Published Strong Quarterly Results, Yet Stock Declined

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus released strong financial results in the second quarter of 2026, driven by growth in commercial aircraft deliveries and improved business performance.
The company's revenue increased by 28% year-over-year and reached €20.5 billion. Adjusted operating profit (EBIT) grew by 54% to €2.43 billion, while net profit increased by 126% to €1.66 billion. Earnings per share (EPS) stood at €2.10.
The strongest results were demonstrated by the commercial aviation segment, where revenue grew by 37% to €15.4 billion, while operating profit increased by 150%.
Airbus Defence and Space's revenue increased by 10% to €3.48 billion, while EBIT in this segment doubled to €408 million. In the Helicopters business, revenue remained nearly flat at €2.08 billion, while operating profit increased by 2%.
The company's Chief Executive Officer Guilhem Faury stated that the strong second quarter results reflect stable production growth and increasing demand for civil and military aircraft.
Airbus also kept its 2026 guidance unchanged and continues to expect approximately 870 commercial aircraft deliveries. Despite this, the company's shares declined by 2.5% at the opening of trading on the Paris Exchange.
