Anthropic Will Finance $63 Billion in Chip Purchases Needed for the Company

Bank of America, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley and Blackstone will finance Anthropic's purchase of Broadcom chips and networking equipment for up to $63 billion. This will be one of the largest credit deals related to artificial intelligence.
A separate company will be created for the deal, which will purchase Broadcom's equipment and then lease it to Anthropic. Deliveries will begin in 2027.
Of the total amount, Bank of America, Citi and Morgan Stanley will provide approximately $43.5 billion. Blackstone will also participate in the remaining portion of the financing.
Broadcom is also offering creditors an additional guarantee in case the purchased equipment significantly depreciates in value in the future. According to Moody's estimates, signing several such large deals within a short period could increase Broadcom's financial risks.
