Apple to spend up to $100 million on purchasing American titanium

Apple will spend up to $100 million over the next three years to purchase American-made titanium. The company is expanding its partnership with Perryman Company, based in Pennsylvania. This company will produce titanium for the casing of Apple's new foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo.
The titanium will be processed in Pennsylvania, and at least 80% of the material will be recycled titanium. According to Apple, the alloy used will make the phone's casing more durable.
Apple is also expanding its collaboration with American company Qnity Electronics. The company will manufacture a special coating for the iPhone 18 Pro's camera. The new technology will allow the camera to better adapt to different lighting conditions.
According to Apple, nearly 100 components of the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro are made by American companies. Its partners operate in more than ten U.S. states.
The new agreements are part of Apple's four-year, $600 billion investment plan, which aims to expand high-tech manufacturing in the US.
