Apple plans to increase the number of iPhone models

Apple is preparing a new plan to strengthen its position in the smartphone market. According to Nikkei Asia, during the period from the second half of 2026 to the first half of 2027, the company plans to launch several new iPhone models, including the first foldable iPhone.
For Apple, one of the key directions is precisely the foldable model. By entering this segment, the company will compete with Samsung and Chinese manufacturers, which currently hold leading positions in the foldable smartphone market. According to available information, Apple has increased its production targets and has asked suppliers to manufacture 10 million units, which exceeds the initial forecast.
The company is simultaneously changing the iPhone launch schedule. Apple will likely present premium models first, while the release of the standard iPhone will be postponed to 2027. At the same time, the question of product price increases is on the agenda.
Due to rising prices for memory chips, Apple has already increased the price of several Mac and iPad models. The iPhone price remains unchanged at this stage, but if component costs continue to rise, price increases may also affect future models.
