The US and Russia are discussing the restoration of gas supplies via Nord Stream

Senior US and Russian officials have been discussing whether it would be possible to restore Russian gas supplies to Europe via the Nord Stream pipelines once the war in Ukraine ends. According to Reuters sources, the talks on this issue involved Kirill Dmitriev, an adviser to Vladimir Putin, and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump's son-in-law.
Under one option, an American investor would get involved in operating the pipelines and earn revenue from selling energy resources in Europe. A White House representative stated that any such deal should benefit US companies and taxpayers. The same representative denied that any recent negotiations had taken place on Nord Stream.
Implementation of the plan is unlikely in the near future. The pipelines are under US and European sanctions, and the German government opposes their restoration. Before the war, Germany sourced more than half of its natural gas from Russia. Nord Stream's controlling stake belongs to Gazprom, with the remaining shareholders including German, French and Dutch companies.
