# U.S. Oil Reserves Decline Most in 40 Years

Crude oil reserves in the United States have declined so sharply that such low levels have not been recorded since 1984. According to the latest data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), during the week of June 19, the country's oil reserves, including strategic reserves, decreased by more than 15 million barrels, totaling 743.3 million barrels.
The decline in reserves has affected nearly all major oil distribution centers across the country. For example, the volume of oil in the Cushing storage facility located in Oklahoma has fallen to 19 million barrels, which is the lowest level since 2014. Similarly, the Midwest region has the lowest amount of oil in the past decade.
The situation on the East Coast is even more significant: not only have fuel reserves declined, but the pace of operation at oil refineries has also noticeably slowed. It is worth noting that if we count reserves excluding strategic stockpiles, oil volumes in the United States have reached their lowest levels since January 2025.
