Humanoid Robot World Games Begin in China

The World Games of humanoid robots have started in Beijing, where robots compete in sports alongside tasks that test their work in factories, warehouses, restaurants, and emergency situations.

The five-day event has 51 competitions planned. According to Huawei, more than 40% of them require fully independent operation without human intervention.

On the first day alone, two robots ran 100 meters faster than Usain Bolt's world record. Another humanoid covered 400 meters in 39.7 seconds, a result better than the current world record held by humans. However, for organizers and industry representatives, speed is not the main test.

Robots will need to connect cables, transport objects, charge electric vehicles, and complete various tasks. As a result, they will be observed to see how well they can recognize and independently correct errors in real-world environments.

According to Yu Chao, head of Lumos Robotics, a robot's true value will be revealed when it efficiently performs everyday work.
