Donald Trump to Meet with Mining and Extraction Sector Representatives

US President Donald Trump is planning a meeting with leaders of the mining sector. The main topic of discussion will be increasing the extraction and processing of critical minerals, which should help reduce the US's dependence on China.
The meeting will take place on Friday at the State Department. It will be attended by representatives of leading companies in the sector, although the final list of participants has not yet been published.
Critical minerals are essential for energy, defense, and high-tech manufacturing. The Trump administration plans to develop domestic deposits, create new processing facilities, and strengthen cooperation with allied countries.
The shortage of qualified specialists also hinders the sector's development, which is why the Department of Energy will hold a separate meeting with representatives from 14 accredited mining schools in the US. The government wants to increase the number of engineers, geologists, and technical personnel.
The National Association of the Mining Sector supports the initiative and expresses readiness to cooperate with the administration.
