Emirates Adds Cryptocurrency Payment Option for Flight Tickets

Emirates Airlines is offering passengers the option to purchase flight tickets with cryptocurrency. Starting July 28, the Crypto.com Pay function appeared on the company's website and mobile application, allowing Crypto.com users to make payments directly from their digital wallet.
At this stage, cryptocurrency payments are available to users residing in the United Arab Emirates, provided the ticket price is displayed in dirhams. This option will appear on Emirates' website and application at the payment stage.
Emirates and Crypto.com signed a cooperation agreement in July 2025. According to Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Chief Commercial Officer, the new feature provides users with more payment options and is particularly designed for young travelers who conduct financial transactions and travel planning primarily through their smartphones.
Emirates is one of the world's largest international airlines and, according to the company's data, the most profitable. In the financial year ending March 31, 2026, its profit reached a record 19.7 billion dirhams, approximately 5.4 billion dollars, while revenue was approximately 41 billion dollars.
Founded in 1985, Emirates is owned by the Dubai Investment Corporation. The airline serves more than 140 routes and is the largest operator of the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777.
