EQT Will Acquire Qiagen for $10.8 Billion

Swedish investment firm EQT will acquire molecular diagnostics company Qiagen for approximately €9.6 billion, or $10.8 billion.
EQT will pay €46.50 per share, which represents an 8.6% premium over the price prior to the deal's announcement. Including Qiagen's debt, the total value of the transaction amounts to approximately $12.1 billion. Major sovereign wealth funds from Abu Dhabi and Canada are also involved in the process.
Qiagen provides research and clinical laboratories with the tests and equipment needed for genetic material analysis. As demand for molecular diagnostics grows, large investment firms are showing increasing interest in this sector as well.
Qiagen's supervisory board has already approved the offer. The deal is expected to close in mid-2027. Until then, the company has suspended the publication of its 2026 financial forecast. According to preliminary third-quarter data, Qiagen's revenue amounted to $548 million.
