Geely Auto Founder Steps Down as Chairman

Chinese automaker Geely Auto announced a major leadership reshuffle on Monday. The company's founder Eric Li will step down as chairman of the Hong Kong-listed automaker.
According to a statement sent to the stock exchange, An Conghui will assume the position of chairman from August 18, 2026.
Eric Li, who founded Geely approximately 40 years ago, will be appointed honorary chairman for life and will continue to serve as chairman of Geely Holding Group.
The company also appointed a new chief executive officer. Gan Jiayue will replace Gui Shengue as CEO, who will in turn move to the position of vice chairman.
Additionally, Li Donghui Daniel will step down from his vice chairman position on August 18.
Geely is one of China's largest automakers, and under Eric Li's leadership, the company has become one of the significant players in the country's automotive industry over the past four decades.
