AMD's New Systems for Artificial Intelligence in Full-Scale Production

AMD's Chief Executive Officer Lisa Su announced that the company's new Helios system is already in full-scale production, with deliveries to customers set to begin in the coming months. With this product, AMD is intensifying its competition with Nvidia, which remains the market leader in this segment.

Helios is equipped with AMD's latest MI455X chips, which are designed for operating artificial intelligence models.

At an event held in San Francisco, OpenAI announced that it will begin using Helios systems by the end of the year. According to a company representative, the scale of their deployment will expand further in 2027.

According to Lisa Su, customer interest in the new systems is high. In her assessment, as artificial intelligence continues to develop, demand for chips that enable the creation and operation of such models will grow significantly. AMD projects that the market volume for this segment will reach 2 trillion dollars by 2030.

At the event, the company also presented new partnerships. AMD is working jointly with Cerebras Systems on combined products, while it will supply Instinct MI450 chips to Anthropic starting in 2027.

Despite these developments, AMD's stock price declined by 2.3%. According to analysts' assessments, this was entirely linked to a broader decline in the semiconductor sector and did not reflect a negative evaluation of the company's new products.
