Lonza to Acquire Five American Manufacturing Facilities from Merck

Swiss company Lonza will acquire five manufacturing sites from Germany's Merck, increasing the number of its US plants to nine.
The facilities are located in Missouri, Wisconsin, Indiana, and California. They work on drug manufacturing, gene therapies, and components needed for cancer treatments.
Lonza expects the new facilities to generate about 250 million Swiss francs in annual sales by 2028. The company will also gain approximately 1,100 new employees.
Lonza has been expanding its operations in the US in recent years. The deal is expected to close in mid-2027.
