LSEG Will Acquire Octus for $3.54 Billion

London Stock Exchange Group will acquire Octus, a credit market data company, for $3.54 billion. This is LSEG's largest deal since 2019, when the group paid $27 billion to acquire Refinitiv.
Octus provides banks and investors with information on loans, financially distressed companies, and private credit markets. One of the company's key advantages is data that isn't publicly available and requires specialized research. LSEG believes that this kind of information retains its value even as artificial intelligence develops rapidly.
The deal will be debt-financed. Octus's revenue this year stands at $300-320 million. According to LSEG's forecast, the acquisition won't have a material impact on profit in the first full year, but will contribute additional revenue in subsequent years.
LSEG also raised its 2026 guidance and now expects revenue growth of at least 8%. Previously, the company had anticipated growth of 7-7.5%.
