Microsoft and Mistral Launch New Artificial Intelligence Project in Europe

Microsoft and French company Mistral are formalizing an agreement aimed at increasing technological resources in Europe and improving data protection.

As part of the agreement, Microsoft will utilize Mistral's European systems to strengthen its own artificial intelligence services in the region. Mistral, in turn, plans to use NVIDIA's new "Vera Rubin" processors, which serve the creation of artificial intelligence models and the processing of large volumes of data.

The launch of the new platform is scheduled for fall 2026. According to the company, it will be approximately ten times faster and more efficient than previous-generation systems.

As a result of the collaboration, Microsoft will gain access to additional resources in Europe and will be less dependent on its own data centers. At the same time, the agreement also enhances Mistral's role.

Within the framework of the partnership, users now have access to Mistral's new models, including Mistral Medium 3.5 and OCR 4. OCR 4 can process 170 languages and extracts not only text from documents, but also their structure and other important information.

The new technologies will be used primarily in the financial sector, healthcare, and manufacturing. They can be used in both internet-based services and in fully closed systems.

Closed systems are particularly important for organizations that work with sensitive information and require data processing without connection to the internet.
