Microsoft Rejects UK Data Center from Nscale

Microsoft has terminated its agreement with the British company Nscale, which concerned the construction of a new data center in Luton, Essex. No official reason has been given, although the project had been delayed several times due to difficulties connecting to the power grid.
Nscale was informed that the electricity supply needed for the center might not be secured until the 2030s. The company still plans to continue the project and is looking for other energy sources.
Nvidia-backed Nscale provides companies with the data centers and technical resources needed to build and run artificial intelligence models. In September, the company filed for a US stock exchange listing. Its major clients include Microsoft and Anthropic.
It should be noted that the shortage of electricity is also hampering the construction of new data centers for artificial intelligence.
