OpenAI's New Feature Presentation Leads to Stock Price Decline for Teladoc and GoodRx

Teladoc and GoodRx share prices declined after OpenAI introduced new health-related features in ChatGPT. According to investors' assessment, the new capability will intensify competition for digital healthcare services in the future.
The new feature allows users living in the United States to share their personal medical records and Apple Health data with ChatGPT. It is also possible to share records from certain medical institutions.
After connecting the data, users can ask ChatGPT to compare laboratory test results across different periods, summarize changes in health status following a doctor's visit, or assess sleep and physical activity data.
According to OpenAI, more than 300 million people use ChatGPT every week, many of whom ask health-related questions. The company collaborated with physicians on developing the new feature, and GPT-5.6 Sol became available to paid users specifically for health tasks.
According to OpenAI's statement, access to medical data will only be possible with user consent. The company also states that this information will not be used for training models or advertising purposes, and users can disable and delete it at any time.
