Gold Price Rises - Investors Monitor Middle East Situation

Gold prices rose on Tuesday as investors closely monitored efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East. Spot gold increased 1.5% to $4,067.55 per ounce, while gold futures strengthened 1.4% to $4,072.45.
Market attention remains focused on ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran. According to Reuters, a senior Iranian official stated that mediators are considering a 10-day ceasefire, which would preserve a temporary agreement and create an opportunity to continue broader negotiations.
Despite this, military confrontation in the region continues, which increases uncertainty around the security of the Strait of Hormuz. This vital maritime route ensures the transportation of a significant portion of global oil and liquefied natural gas, so any disruption intensifies inflationary pressure.
Analysts believe that rising oil prices could push central banks, including the US Federal Reserve, toward increasing interest rates. Higher rates typically have a negative effect on gold, as it does not generate income.
According to Dominic Schneider, an analyst at UBS Global Wealth Management, expectations of elevated real interest rates continue to pressure gold, which is why a long-term perspective remains important for investors.
