Oura Postpones $2.2 Billion IPO

Smart ring maker Oura has postponed its stock market debut. As part of its IPO, Oura had planned to offer 50 million shares and raise up to $2.2 billion. Of these, only 13.5 million would have been newly issued shares by the company, while the remaining 36.5 million belonged to existing shareholders.

For some investors, this was precisely one of the main concerns. In their view, offering such a large number of shares held by existing shareholders raised questions about the company's future growth.

Had the shares sold at the maximum price, Oura's valuation would have reached approximately $14.1 billion. Taking options and other rights into account, the company's valuation would have risen to nearly $15 billion. Demand for the shares on offer was roughly four times higher than supply, yet the company still decided to postpone its market debut and wait for a more favorable time.
