**South Korea launches $200-billion program in the US**

South Korea plans to invest $200 billion in US energy and infrastructure projects. Information about the program is being released by the White House.

The plan covers several large-scale projects. $54 billion is planned to be allocated for the construction of Alaska LNG. The construction of eight large nuclear power plants and a 6-gigawatt gas-fired power plant in Texas is also under consideration.

The Alaska LNG project involves building a pipeline of approximately 1,300 kilometers. The pipeline will carry gas extracted in northern Alaska to the southern coast, where it will be processed into LNG and then exported to Asian markets. The project's annual capacity will be up to 20 million tons.

The $200 billion program is part of a trade agreement concluded between the US and South Korea. Seoul also has a $150 billion plan for the American shipbuilding sector.

Some lawmakers in South Korea are questioning the economic feasibility of the projects. The government, however, states that the funds will only be spent on projects with genuine commercial prospects.
