Samsung Plans to Distribute Up to 72 Billion Dollars to Shareholders

Samsung Electronics plans to announce a new shareholder program by the end of August, with a total value exceeding 100 trillion won, or approximately $71.75 billion.
According to MoneyToday, the company's board of directors will review the matter at the end of the month. The program includes provision for special dividend payments, and Samsung plans to use 50% of its free cash flow to finance it.
It is noteworthy that with the development of artificial intelligence, demand for memory chips is growing, which has also had a positive impact on Samsung's financial results.
Samsung's main local competitor SK Hynix is also launching a program for shareholders. The company has announced plans for share buyback and cancellation worth 40 trillion won. Samsung has not yet commented on the circulated information.
