Sanofi and Regeneron Sign $8 Billion Deal on Four New Drugs

Sanofi and Regeneron will jointly work on four new drugs for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. The total value of the deal could reach $8 billion.

Sanofi will initially pay Regeneron $1 billion. The remaining amount will be paid by the company in stages, contingent on the drugs successfully passing research and approval phases and sales reaching agreed targets. The companies will share both costs and future profits equally. Regeneron will lead the research, while Sanofi will be responsible for international sales of the approved drugs.

Research on the first drug, REGN20423, for the treatment of atopic dermatitis has already begun, while clinical trials for the remaining three drugs are planned for 2027.

It is worth noting that, alongside the collaboration on the four drugs, the new agreement also resolves an existing legal dispute between the companies.
