Shein to Pay $100 Million to End US Investigation

Shein has reached a settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission and will pay $100 million to close the investigation. The case concerned delayed orders and other customer complaints.
According to the FTC, more than 12,000 complaints were filed against Shein between January 2020 and June 2026, with a total value exceeding $11 million.
Shein is also facing problems in Europe. A new charge on low-value parcels will take effect in the EU from November 1, set at €5 per customs code. In response, the company has raised prices and started listing more expensive brands.
Shein's share price has fallen 22% since its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in September. The EU is also investigating the sale of illegal products on the company's platform.
