SpaceX to Build $100 Billion Starship Complex in Louisiana

SpaceX is building a new space complex for Starship rockets in Louisiana, USA. The project is valued at $100 billion, and the company plans to launch thousands of Starships annually from the facility in the future.

The new complex will be located on Pecan Island, spanning approximately 50,000 hectares, and will be called Starbase, Louisiana. Construction is scheduled to begin next year, with the first Starship launch planned for 2029.

According to SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell, the complex will have the capability to produce its own fuel and generate electricity.

The facility will also include infrastructure necessary for rocket maintenance and a deep-water port. The company is also considering the construction of an airport.

According to SpaceX, the project will create more than 3,000 jobs in the region. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry views the project as a significant economic opportunity for the state.

The company's plans have also faced criticism from part of the population. They are concerned about potential environmental impact, water pollution, and pressure on surrounding lands.
