SpaceX seeks $40 billion in financing for Nvidia chips

SpaceX is in talks with banks and investment firms to secure approximately $40 billion in financing. The funds are needed to purchase Nvidia's artificial intelligence chips.
According to the plan, around $10 billion is to be raised through bank loans, with the remaining $30 billion coming from bond issuance. PIMCO is also involved in the negotiations, and according to reports, Apollo will play the leading role in organizing the financing.
SpaceX plans to use Nvidia's chips in its own data centers. Elon Musk's other company, xAI, is also rapidly increasing its chip count to boost computing power for artificial intelligence systems at its Colossus data centers.
Projects like these require ever-growing amounts of financing. According to Morgan Stanley's estimates, companies will need to raise an additional roughly $1.5 trillion by 2028 for AI-related data centers and technologies.
