# Starbucks Considers Selling Its Business Stake in Japan

Starbucks is considering selling its stake in its Japan business. According to reports, the company is working with investment banks on several options, including selling a stake in the business and a public offering of shares.
According to experts' assessment, the value of Starbucks' Japanese operations is estimated at 400 to 500 billion yen, or approximately 2.5 to 3 billion dollars. Analysts suggest that both strategic buyers and investment funds will be interested in this asset.
Japan is one of Starbucks' most important international markets. The company owns approximately 2,100 locations in the country and has grown steadily over the years. Starbucks implemented a similar strategic change in the China market in April, when it sold a 60% stake in its operations there. At this stage, the matter is still in its initial phase and the company has not yet made a final decision.
