# Trump Changed His Position on Anthropic: The Company Is No Longer Considered a Threat

Donald Trump announced that he no longer considers Anthropic a national security threat at this stage. The decision was made after the company imposed temporary restrictions on the use of its new models.
The dispute concerned Anthropic's latest models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5. Part of the U.S. administration was concerned that citizens of foreign countries could gain access to these systems and potentially use them against American interests. Following this, at Trump's request, the company temporarily restricted access to the models for all users.
According to the President, Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei responded quickly and responsibly to the administration's directives. This is precisely why the White House does not currently consider it necessary to take stricter measures against the company.
Trump did not rule out that the government could use the authorities provided by the Defense Production Act if necessary. However, he noted that there is currently no basis for this.
Anthropic stated that it will continue to cooperate with the U.S. administration. According to the company's statement, their primary goal is to maintain U.S. leadership in the field of artificial intelligence.
