Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is visiting Georgia on a state visit

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Georgia on July 2-3 at the invitation of Georgia's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on a state visit.

During the visit, high-level meetings will take place in Tbilisi with Georgia's President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

The main theme of the negotiations will be further deepening the friendly relations between Georgia and Uzbekistan and expanding multifaceted cooperation. The parties will discuss strengthening political dialogue, parliamentary and regional cooperation, expanding trade and economic ties, as well as developing cultural and humanitarian relations.

Particular attention will be given to cooperation in the industrial, pharmaceutical, chemical, agricultural, tourism, energy, and IT sectors.

Among priority issues will be transport and logistics cooperation, as well as creating opportunities to expand the geography of Uzbek exports.

The leaders will also exchange views on current regional and international issues.

Following the completion of the visit, the parties will sign a significant package of bilateral documents on cooperation in various sectors.
