Alibaba Sues Pentagon in Court

Alibaba Files Lawsuit Against U.S. Department of Defense

Alibaba is initiating legal action against the Pentagon, seeking to be removed from a list of companies associated with China's military.

Alibaba filed a complaint in federal court in California. According to the company, the Pentagon classified it as an organization supporting China's military without solid evidence and sufficient explanation.

Alibaba states that it has been attempting to cooperate with the Department of Defense for months. According to the company, it provided the agency with detailed information and answered all questions to prove that it does not collaborate with China's military. However, Alibaba claims that the Pentagon did not provide adequate responses to its arguments.

Other major Chinese companies have recently been added to the same list, including Baidu and BYD. Last year, the Pentagon also added Tencent to the list.
