The American group is planning to acquire $22 billion worth of Lukoil's assets

A group led by American billionaire Todd Boehly is working on acquiring Lukoil's foreign assets. The deal concerns oil fields, refineries and gas stations located in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which were initially valued at approximately $22 billion.
A bank acting on the group's behalf has already purchased Lukoil's securities frozen in Western funds, at around 30% of their original value. According to the plan, the group will receive Lukoil's foreign assets in exchange for these securities.
Several companies from the United Arab Emirates, as well as the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, are also participating in the group. The deal could be finalized within a few weeks.
