Anthropic to Pay $10 Billion for Using Data Center in Norway

Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has signed a six-year, $10 billion agreement with infrastructure startup Volta Infra. According to Bloomberg, under the deal, Anthropic will utilize a data center located in Norway with a capacity of 133 megawatts. The center will be equipped with Nvidia's new Vera Rubin chips.

Bitdeer Technologies is also participating in the project. The company is converting data centers that it previously used for cryptocurrency mining to serve artificial intelligence systems.

Volta Infra was founded in January of this year by former executives of Brookfield Asset Management. The company is valued at $2.4 billion and already collaborates with SpaceX and AMD, and is also considering leasing data centers from Meta.
