Apollo has made a $1.25 billion investment in BMG

Apollo Global Management has invested $1.25 billion in music company BMG. The deal is linked to the merger of BMG and Concord. Apollo acquired a stake in BMG's subsidiary, whose assets include Concord's catalog of more than one million songs.

BMG will use part of the funds received to cover Concord's existing liabilities. The merged company will continue operating under the BMG name, with its headquarters located in Nashville. The business combines music publishing, recordings, theatrical rights, and digital distribution.

The music industry is not a new direction for Apollo. Since 2022, the company has helped Concord issue more than $4.5 billion in securities backed by music assets. Over the past five years, Apollo's total investments and financing in the music industry have exceeded $8 billion.

BMG was founded in 2008 and is owned by German media company Bertelsmann. Following its merger with Concord, the company continued operating under the unified BMG name.
