U.S. Treasury Unveils Trump Commemorative Gold Coin

The US Treasury has unveiled a 24-karat gold commemorative coin featuring Donald Trump's image, created to mark the nation's 250th independence anniversary. The design of the $1 collectible coin was introduced to the public by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The US Mint will begin minting the coins for the jubilee date.
Along with Trump's portrait on the coin are inscriptions reading "In God We Trust" and "Liberty 1776–2026". US legislation generally prohibits the depiction of living persons on national currency; however, according to the administration's interpretation, this restriction does not apply to this coin, as it was created specifically under a law passed for the 250th independence anniversary.
The project is among initiatives launched following Trump's return to the White House, and encompasses the use of his image on state symbols and official documents. New passport designs, national park passes, and a $250 banknote design are also under consideration.
