# ContourGlobal Launches New Solar Energy Project in Chile

Clean energy company ContourGlobal has launched operations of a solar power plant and energy storage system in Chile. The project is considered one of the longest-duration battery systems in Latin America.

ContourGlobal, which is owned by KKR, has commissioned a new energy facility in Chile. The project combines solar energy generation with a battery system that continues to supply energy after sunset. According to the company, the system can deliver 200 megawatts of solar energy over a 6.5-hour period. This facility is regarded as one of the world's longest-duration large-scale battery systems, and ranks first in Latin America by this metric.
