The Hormuz Crisis May Delay QatarEnergy's Expansion Projects

Several major QatarEnergy projects may face delays due to the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the company's CEO, Saad al-Kaabi, the problem lies in bringing essential equipment for the projects into Qatar.

QatarEnergy plans to significantly increase its liquefied natural gas production. Several new facilities under the North Field East project will come online in 2027, while North Field South LNG will begin production in 2028.

The company's head did not specify how long the delay might last. According to him, QatarEnergy is currently producing only a very small amount of LNG.

QatarEnergy's statement is significant for the global energy market, as the situation in the Strait of Hormuz directly affects the implementation of new LNG projects as well. The company's planned expansion envisions a substantial increase in Qatar's gas production in the coming years.
