Meta Hires AI Safety Specialists

Meta Acquires AI Safety Talent from Virtue AI Startup
Against the backdrop of intensifying competition in the field of artificial intelligence, Meta has made a significant decision. The founders and team members of startup Virtue AI have joined Meta's Superintelligence Labs (Meta Superintelligence Labs). With this move, the company aims to strengthen the security and reliability of its own AI agents.
The leaders of Virtue AI — Bo Li, Don Song, and Sanmi Koyejo — are recognized experts in artificial intelligence safety. Along with them, a group of specialists moved to Meta who work on automated security testing, systematic control, and AI regulation tools. According to the company's internal documents, system security is a top priority when creating products intended for billions of users.
Instead of acquiring the entire company, Meta this time hired its leading specialists. The company made a similar decision in March, when it brought the founders of Dreamer into its own team. Through this approach, Meta is attempting to build one of the strongest teams in the field of artificial intelligence, as competition in this area and security requirements continue to grow.
