Meta, TikTok and Other Platforms Face Thousands of LawsuitsMeta, TikTok and other social media platforms continue to face thousands of lawsuits as proceedings move forward in courts worldwide.

Thousands of lawsuits against Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, and Google continue to be reviewed. According to the plaintiffs, certain features of social networks cause addiction in minors.
According to Reuters, the San Francisco Court of Appeals rejected the companies' request. They relied on Section 230 of U.S. legislation, which protects online platforms from liability for material published by users.
The companies argued that Section 230 also protected them from liability in this case, but the court rejected their request.
Among the plaintiffs are private individuals, states, local government bodies, and school districts. The cases have been consolidated into a single federal proceeding.
Meta has already lost two similar cases. In both instances, juries found the company liable for allegations related to child safety.
